Battery HJTX14AH-FP JMT for model: Yamaha XS 650 SE Special 3L1 1983
Lithium-ion batteries from JMT, high-tech for your motorbike.
The latest generation of batteries can be recognised by the red housing cover.
Replacing a standard lead-acid battery with a JMT lithium-ion battery can save up to 5 kg in weight without any significant effort.
Spacer (S)
The battery is fitted with one or more spacers, which are stuck under the battery using the adhesive strip supplied, so that the battery fits exactly into the battery box.
Waterproof (W)
The battery is completely waterproof and will not be damaged if the motorbike is cleaned under high pressure.
Indicator (I)
All batteries are fitted with a battery status indicator.
Simply press the test button. If all 3 blue LEDs light up, the battery is fully charged. If only 2 LEDs light up, it is only half charged (med). The battery must be charged at the latest when only one LED lights up (low).
Quattro Pole (Q)
The battery is equipped with four pole connections. Depending on how the battery is installed, the positive pole is positioned on the left or right, which means that the battery replaces many conventional lead-acid batteries in use.
The following advantages speak in favour of JMT lithium-ion batteries:
- approx. 1/3 of the weight of the comparable lead-acid battery
- unbeatable cost/weight saving ratio
- can be installed in any position as they contain no acid
- contains no heavy metals
- balanced discharge/charge of all cells through balancer
- Fast charging with high charging current possible (up to 90% in 6 min)
- very low self-discharge (max. 5% per month)
- good performance even at high temperatures up to 60°C
- safe technology and long service life
- 12 V maintenance-free lithium-ion battery
- Recommended charging current 2.5 A
- maximum charging current for fast charging 24 A
Due to their specific characteristics, lead-acid batteries can only utilise 30% of their capacity,
while lithium-ion batteries can utilise almost 100% of their capacity.
For this reason, the lithium versions of JMT batteries only require 1/3 of the capacity of a comparable lead-acid battery for the same starting power.
In addition, a built-in processor ("balancer") ensures an even state of charge for all cells.
The dimensions of the lithium-ion batteries correspond to the dimensions of the original lead-acid batteries with the help of adapters.
The connections are also identical, which is why the battery can be replaced in just a few minutes without any further adjustments.
Please note that only suitable chargers may be used for charging. We recommend JMP chargers.
Please refer to the technical data below for the maximum recommended charging currents
Under no circumstances should chargers be used that attempt to desulphate deeply discharged batteries below 10 volts with a voltage of more than 14.8 volts before starting the actual charging process.
The maximum charging voltage of 14.8 volts must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
The manufacturer guarantees sufficient starting capacity down to -5 degrees Celsius.
Technology
JMT lithium-ion batteries use iron phosphate (Li FePO4) as the cathode material and utilise the lithium polymer process in their manufacture.
This means that they cannot burst into flames or explode during normal operation.
The technology and the manufacturing process guarantee the highest safety standard for lithium batteries.

Mandatory Information According to the German Battery Law (BattG)
Information on Battery Deposit:
Distributors who sell vehicle batteries to end consumers are required under §10 BattG to charge a deposit of €7.50, including VAT, if the end consumer does not return a used starter battery at the time of purchasing a new one.
Please note that used vehicle batteries are classified as hazardous goods and may only be shipped using logistics companies that accept such goods. Shipments that are not properly labeled and shipped as hazardous goods will not be accepted by us!
Notice According to the German Battery Law (BattG):
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. The trash bin symbol indicates batteries containing hazardous substances and reminds consumers that batteries must be disposed of properly rather than in household waste. End users are legally required to return used batteries.Important Information About Returning Used Batteries:We must inform you that batteries can be returned to us free of charge after use. You can send used batteries that we sell or have sold back to us for proper disposal.
