Motorcycle brake lever and clutch lever

Motorcycle brake lever and clutch lever are different from the bicycle for the front brake seen in the direction of travel on the right and the clutch on the left, or on most scooters are mounted on the right side of the brake lever for the front wheel and on the left side of the brake lever for the rear wheel.

On the brake side, that is, the brake lever on motorcycles on the right side is nowadays almost exclusively transmitted only by means of hydraulic brake pump.
There are, however, two differences in the control of the brake pump, once the normal axial controlled brake cylinder and once the radial brake cylinder.

The advantage of a radial brake on a motorcycle is the finely adjustable lever action, i.e. the transmission of pressure on the brake lever to the brake cylinder and thus to the brake calipers.
On the clutch side, there are two versions, once the mechanical armature, thereby the clutch is triggered mechanically on the motorcycle engine when the lever is pulled by means of a cable, and secondly the hydraulic version, this is triggered hydraulically, according to the same principle as the brake, so by means of hydraulic pressure the clutch on the engine.

Advantages or disadvantages of these systems

The mechanical K-armature must be readjusted more often after some time wear, the cable wears out over time and must be replaced, advantage less weight and low manufacturing costs.
The hydraulic clutch must be changed every 2 years the hydraulic fluid, higher weight, but clear advantage the transmission force, this can be significantly facilitated by means of larger cylinders at the master cylinder or slave cylinder on their motorcycle, and is much lower wear than a mechanical transmission.

Original brake levers and clutch levers

Mostly simple cast aluminum levers with little adjustment options at very high prices.

Original style accessories brake and clutch lever

They look like the original levers, but are usually manufactured in cheap wage countries, but are actually not approved in Germany, a brake lever may be moved in Germany only with a general operating permit (ABE), but the problem is that this lever at first glance is not distinguishable from the original lever, but a basic strength test let alone the vehicle-specific mounting test has probably not made a single one of these levers.

For the experienced motorcyclist is then actually only the question between an original brake lever and clutch lever or an aluminum CNC machined brake lever and clutch lever from the accessories with ABE, these levers are tested and approved.
One must always remember that he is here about the brake, and there of course only tested components should be used.
The clutch lever is not actually a safety-relevant component by law and does not require its own test, however, CNC machined aluminum brake and clutch lever exactly this combination is entered in the ABE (General Operating Permit), and then also only so approved.

Now to the aluminum milled CNC brake lever and clutch lever

The advantage with these levers is in any case the individual adjustment possibility, it is on the brake lever and on the clutch lever possible to adjust the grip width 6-fold, this is meant in 6 steps the distance lever to the handlebar are adjustable, the moreover have at Raximo the BCF and the BCE a length adjustment, this can be adjusted by means of dovetail connection by about 3 cm in length.
The BCF also has a folding mechanism, this folds up, for example, if the motorcycle would fall over, without a breakage of the lever and thus a further ride would not be given.
Individual color scheme, individual style

The BCF from Raximo is currently the only lever set that can be individually color configured to 9 colors each of 4 different components on the levers such as the main part, the middle part, the end part and the adjuster.
Calculated there's a configuration possibility of say and write 6561 different colors, because each individual part can be configured separately.

The BCS lever, which is with us the short version, optimal for 2-finger brakemen, who love short levers, for example, on the race track, or on Enduros would like this lever is recommended, again there are 9 colors of the lever and 9 colors of the adjuster.

The BCE brake lever and clutch lever, this is actually identical in construction to the BCF but is not foldable, so only length adjustable by about 3cm but not foldable, the 6-fold grip width adjustment remains.

Our brake lever and clutch lever have an ABE, in this ABE are now 1400 or more different motorcycle models registered, this ABE must also only be carried, an entry in the papers is not required.
If times a model is not in the ABE, this can of course be approved by a mounting inspection, a material expertise is part of the ABE.

As soon as there are new models we are always trying to develop the appropriate levers for it, this goes in our in-house department for development quickly and we are always one of the first where new models have, we are also always open to suggestions also in the direction of older vehicles or quad, ATV or scooter. The ABE for new motorcycles is extended twice a year, mostly in December and June.
