We are happy to announce that we will start in the 2022 season with David Datzer in the MTP-Racing by SYNTAINICS Penz13 team.

Like many other teams, Penz13 has been hit hard by the still ongoing pandemic. With only the Daytona 200 race in the last 24 months, the German team will regroup and come back strong in 2022. Puraglobe, a German-American oil company, will continue its support and be the main sponsor of the Penz13 team through 2022 under SYNTAINICS RACING. Of course, no one can guarantee that the major International Road Races will take place as planned. Nevertheless, the team will compete with a great international rider line-up at Daytona, the Isle of Man TT, Imatra, Frohburg and the Macau GP.
For the first time in the team's history, a German rider will lead this lineup. Last year's European road racing sensation, David Datzer, will be racing the big International Road Races for us. Together with the seeded team regulars Erno Kostamo, Sheridan Morais and Luca Gottardi.

"We have always been looking for a fast German rider the last years, since the cooperation with Rico Penzkofer and Stefan Kühn started in 2008. Since then we have competed very successfully with mostly British riders who have achieved podium finishes at the Macau Grand Prix, Isle of Man TT, North West 200 and Ulster GP. After winning the IRRC twice in a row, we decided to suspend the IRRC for the time being due to the pandemic and focus only on the International races. This gave us the opportunity to closely monitor the development of the riders! And it was the right decision to talk to David after we saw a big improvement in his riding skills. Especially after he won races in the National Superstock Championship in Germany and took several podiums in the IRRC in 2021. We strongly believe that he is ready to be a title contender in the IRRC in 2022. To that end, we have considered offering him our team structure and expertise so that he can fully focus on his racing and take that next step. Together with David we are building a BMW S1000RR tailor-made for him for the Isle of Man TT and the other big international races. David will continue to race the IRRC under his own wing in partnership with MTP and SYNTAINICS Racing, while also relying on our full support. We are very excited and look forward to seeing David alongside Erno and Sheridan on our team."
David Datzer:
"We started talking to each other in 2020 and sharing our ideas. Also how we can work together on a collaboration in the future, with the Pandemic, and the Road Races that may take place. We realized last year, if we want to ride for the Big International Road Races at a decent level, we need more than just a van, a motorcycle, and some spare parts, as well as the friends and family. Nevertheless, with the great help of my family and Willi Pötscher, I have managed to get this far. And WE as a small private team are very very proud of that. However, it demands too much from one's own family and everyday life when one has to set up the racing motorcycles oneself, take care of sponsors and drive the van from race to race. Therefore, my family as well as Willi Pötscher and I have decided to join a larger team and to give the project a little more professionalism. Rico and Stefan have a great team with Benny Jerzenbeck, Lars Sänger, Günther Rehbock, Pekka Oikkonen, Frank Ittner, Markus Huber and Marcel Vitor. And that's why we decided to join this professional constellation of team and mechanics. Nevertheless I will continue the IRRC alone with my father Stefan and Willi Pötscher. Only the Isle of Man TT and the other international races I will join the Penz13 team. Also we have a backup plan if this Corona pandemic would continue to give us headaches - time will tell early - and we are definitely ready for 2022."
